Leverage Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Game Leverage, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Leverage," "we," "us," or "our") provides an all-in-one platform for youth sports. Leagues, clubs, teams, coaches, parents, and players use it to manage teams, communicate, handle payments, and share and review game film.
Many of the people on Leverage are children and teens, and protecting them is our first priority. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to gameleverage.com, the Leverage mobile apps, and all related services (the "Services").
Our core commitments
- We do not sell personal information. We do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising, either.
- We do not show targeted advertising, and we never direct advertising to children.
- Only adults can create Leverage accounts. Children and teens appear only as Player profiles managed by a linked Parent or by their Organization. Minors cannot send or receive messages on Leverage.
- Player profiles and film are private by default. A Player profile is made public only with a Parent's recorded consent.
- Player tags in film are suggested by video analysis and confirmed by a person. We do not sell or share player video or tags, and we will not use any biometric feature without publishing a retention schedule and getting prior written consent first.
- Our AI providers are contractually prohibited from training on customer data, including minors' information and video.
- Parents can review, correct, and delete their child's information at any time.
1. Who This Policy Covers and Our Role
This Policy covers everyone who uses the Services. That includes organization administrators ("Org Admins"), coaches, parents and guardians ("Parents"), adult players, officials, fans, waitlist sign-ups, and visitors. It also covers players under 18 ("Minors") whose information is added to the Services.
Leverage operates the Services. Leagues, clubs, teams, tournament hosts, schools, and other organizers ("Organizations") use the Services to run their own programs. They decide what information to collect from their participants (including through custom registration questions, waivers, and evaluations) and how to use it. Where we process information for an Organization, we do so on its behalf, and the Organization's own privacy practices also apply.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you give us
- Account information. Your name, email address, phone number, password or sign-in credentials (including from Apple, Google, or another sign-in provider you choose), your age band (to confirm you are an adult), your role, and your relationship to any Player.
- Player profile information. A Player's name, birth year, height, dominant hand, photo, team and roster information, stats, tryout evaluations, and injury status. This information may be added by the Player's Parent, by the Player (if an adult), or by the Player's Organization or coaches.
- Registration information. Answers to registration questions, including custom questions an Organization chooses to ask.
- Contacts. Names, emails, phone numbers, and marketing-consent status of program contacts that Organizations upload or import, including through AI-assisted onboarding of roster and contact files.
- Content. Messages (team, league, and direct) and attachments, posts, comments (including live comments on streams), photos, video, game film, livestreams, highlights, player tags, and files.
- Waivers and e-signatures. When you sign a waiver or form in the Services, we record your signed name, the date and time, your IP address, browser information, and the consent text you agreed to.
- Payment information. Stripe processes payments and payouts. We do not store full card numbers. We receive limited information such as the last four digits, card type, transaction and installment records, and payout status. Officials, Organizations, and others who receive payouts give Stripe the identity and tax information it needs for verification.
- Consent records. Records of Parent consents (for example, to make a Player profile public), including the version consented to and when.
- Waitlist information. If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address, role, organization, sport, and location. We receive this by internal email and use it only to contact you about Leverage.
- Support and safety reports. Information you send us when you contact support or report a concern.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information. IP address, device and browser type, operating system, app version, push-notification tokens, pages and features used, dates and times, crash reports, and diagnostic logs.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We use these to keep you signed in, remember settings, keep the Services secure, and understand performance (see Section 11).
- Approximate location. We may infer your general location (such as city or region) from your IP address. We do not collect precise geolocation from your device.
2.3 Information from others
- Organizations and coaches, who may add Player, roster, registration, evaluation, and contact information.
- Other users, who may upload content you appear in, or tag you in film, subject to our Terms and your settings.
- Our video-analysis software, which detects game events, creates clips, and suggests which rostered player appears in a clip. An authorized team member confirms each tag (see Section 15).
- Service providers, such as Stripe (payment status) and Apple and Google (sign-in and in-app purchase status).
2.4 Sensitive information
Injury status and answers to some custom registration questions may be health-related or otherwise sensitive. We ask Organizations to collect only what they need, and we ask everyone not to submit sensitive information unless it is necessary. We do not knowingly collect:
- Social Security numbers; or
- precise geolocation.
Section 15 explains how player identification in film works, and our commitments about biometric information.
3. Information by Type of User
| User | What we typically collect |
|---|---|
| Org Admins and coaches | Contact and account information, Organization details, rosters, schedules, evaluations, registration answers, uploaded contacts, communications, content and film, payout information (through Stripe) |
| Parents | Contact and account information, relationship to the Player, consent records, payments, communications, waiver signatures |
| Officials and referees | Contact and account information, assignments, payout and verification information (through Stripe) |
| Adult players, fans, and viewers | Account information, content, comments, purchases, stream invitations |
| Minors (Player profiles only) | Information added by a Parent or Organization: name, birth year, height, dominant hand, photo, roster and team data, stats, tryout evaluations, injury status, film and player tags. Minors do not have accounts |
| Waitlist sign-ups | Email, role, organization, sport, location |
| Visitors | Device and usage information |
4. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
(a) provide the Services, including accounts, Player profiles, rosters, registrations, waivers, schedules, messaging, payments and payouts, film hosting, livestreaming, playback, and analysis;
(b) obtain, record, and honor consent, including Parent consents for Player profiles;
(c) keep the Services and our users safe, including by preventing abuse, enforcing our Terms and other policies, investigating reports, and meeting our legal reporting duties;
(d) process payments and payouts, prevent fraud, and keep financial records;
(e) send service, security, safety, and transaction messages by email and push notification, plus marketing messages to adults who have not opted out (we never send marketing to minors), and deliver Organizations' emails to their program contacts;
(f) provide features you choose, including AI Features (see Section 6);
(g) respond to waitlist sign-ups; and maintain, debug, and improve the Services. When we analyze how the Services are used, we use de-identified or aggregated information wherever possible, and we never build advertising profiles of minors; and
(h) comply with the law, respond to legal process, and establish or defend legal claims.
We do not use personal information for purposes that are materially different from these without first notifying you and, where the law requires it, getting your consent. For a child, that means getting the Parent's verifiable consent.
5. How We Share Information
5.1 With the people you choose. Film is visible only to its owner by default, until the owner shares it view-only with specific users, teams, or Organizations. Shares can be revoked or set to expire. Player profiles are private by default. Team and league content is visible to the members of that team or league.
5.2 With service providers (subprocessors). We use trusted service providers to operate the Services. They may process personal information only on our instructions, under written contracts that require confidentiality and security and prohibit them from using the information for their own purposes. Our current providers are:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Website and application hosting |
| Supabase | Database hosting |
| Amazon Web Services (S3, queues) | Private file and media storage, background processing |
| Mux | Video hosting, processing, and live and recorded streaming |
| Ably | Real-time messaging delivery |
| Modal | Compute hosting (AWS us-east-1) for our video-analysis software |
| Stripe | Payments, installments, payouts, and payout identity verification |
| Apple and Google | Sign-in, app distribution, and in-app purchases |
| Expo | Delivery of mobile push notifications |
| OpenAI and xAI | AI Features (see Section 6) |
| Email delivery provider | Sending account, transaction, and Organization emails |
We will update this list before adding a provider that receives Minors' personal information.
5.3 With Organizations. If you or your child join a team, program, or event, we share the relevant profile, roster, registration, waiver, payment, and communication information with that Organization's authorized administrators and coaches.
5.4 For safety and legal reasons. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that it is necessary to:
- comply with the law or valid legal process;
- report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as federal law requires;
- protect the safety of any person, especially a minor;
- investigate fraud or security issues; or
- enforce our Terms.
5.5 Business transfers. If Leverage is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. Any successor must honor this Policy's commitments for information collected under it, including the commitments about minors, unless the affected users (or their Parents) consent to a change.
5.6 With your consent. We share information in other ways only with your consent. For a Minor, that means a Parent's consent.
5.7 What we do not do. We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for targeted advertising. We do not give data brokers or advertising networks access to personal information.
6. Artificial Intelligence
We use artificial intelligence services, including from OpenAI and xAI, to power:
- game recaps;
- player insights;
- practice planning;
- an AI website builder;
- an in-app assistant; and
- AI-assisted onboarding that reads rosters and contact files that Organizations upload.
We also run our own video-analysis software, hosted on Modal, to detect game events, create clips, and suggest player tags. When you use these features:
- we send the provider only the information needed to perform the feature;
- our AI providers are contractually prohibited from using customer data, including Minors' personal information and video, to train or improve their models;
- we do not use Minors' personal information or video to train or fine-tune AI models, and we do not use personal data to train large language models or sell personal data for that purpose;
- AI Features are available only to adult account holders;
- a person must confirm any tag linking a Player to film; and
- AI output is informational and can be wrong. It is not scouting, recruiting, medical, or other professional advice, and it is never used on its own to make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on anyone.
7. Your Choices
- Visibility and sharing. Film owners control who can view their film, and can revoke shares, set expirations, and delete film. Parents control whether their child's Player profile is public. Stream hosts can block viewers and hide comments.
- Marketing. Unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email, including emails Organizations send through Leverage. We keep an unsubscribe list and honor it.
- Text messages. We do not currently send texts. If we offer them, we will ask for your consent first, and you can reply STOP at any time.
- Push notifications. Turn them off in your device settings.
- Cookies. Manage them in your browser (see Section 11).
- Account deletion. Delete your account in settings, or email privacy@gameleverage.com.
8. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information only as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes described in this Policy. Then we securely delete it or de-identify it. Our retention schedule:
| Information | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Account information | While the account is active. Deleted within 30 days after the account is deleted |
| A Minor's Player profile information | While the profile is in use. Deleted when a Parent asks, when the profile is closed, or after 12 months with no activity on the profile, whichever comes first. We may notify the linked Parent before deleting for inactivity |
| Film, clips, and player tags | 30 days after upload, unless the film owner chooses a longer retention period. Deleted sooner if the owner, the Organization, or a verified Parent requests it. Temporary copies held by our video-analysis host are deleted within about 7 days, and its logs within 30 days |
| Livestream recordings and live comments | Same as film. Hidden or reported comments are kept as long as needed to review them |
| Messages and attachments | Up to 24 months after they are sent, unless needed for an open safety investigation or legal matter |
| Contacts uploaded by Organizations | While the Organization's account is active, or until the Organization deletes them. Unsubscribe records are kept so we can honor opt-outs |
| Waiver and e-signature records | For as long as the Organization requires them to document its program. Generally up to 7 years after the activity, or longer if needed while a claim could still be brought |
| Records of Parent consent | While the Player profile exists, plus 3 years |
| Payment, installment, and payout records | 7 years, to meet tax and accounting requirements |
| Waitlist information | Up to 12 months, or until you ask us to delete it |
| Safety reports and enforcement records | As long as needed to protect users and meet legal duties, generally up to 7 years |
| Security and diagnostic logs | Up to 12 months |
| Backups | Overwritten on a rolling basis, generally within 35 days |
We may keep information longer when the law requires it, or to preserve evidence of a safety or legal violation. We may keep and use de-identified or aggregated information without these limits, and we will not try to re-identify it.
9. Children's Privacy
This section explains how we handle information about children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and the FTC's COPPA Rule (16 C.F.R. Part 312). We apply the same protections to Player profiles of all Minors.
9.1 Contact. Game Leverage, Inc., 169 Madison Ave STE 69154, New York, NY 10016. Email: privacy@gameleverage.com. Leverage responds to all Parent inquiries about children's information in the Services.
9.2 Minors do not have accounts. Only adults (18 or older, or the age of majority where higher) can create or use accounts. We ask for age at sign-up and do not permit accounts for anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete related data as required by law. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. Minors cannot send or receive messages, and Leverage does not provide messaging between adults and Minors.
9.3 Where children's information comes from. A child's information may be entered only by a Parent or an authorized Organization. Children must not submit information to Leverage themselves. A child's Player profile information comes from one of two sources:
- A Parent, through the Parent's own account. When a Parent creates or links a child's Player profile, the Parent consents to our collection and use of that information as this Policy describes.
- The child's Organization. When an Organization adds a child's information, it confirms that it has the Parent's permission to provide it, or other legal authority (for example, a school acting in an educational context with the authority the law allows). It must provide only what is reasonably needed for its youth-sports purposes.
9.4 What we collect and how we use it.
- Information collected: a child's name, birth year, height, dominant hand, photo, team and roster information, stats, tryout evaluations, injury status, film and player tags, and any answers an Organization collects in registration.
- How we use it: only to provide the team and sports features the Parent or Organization uses, to keep children safe, and to comply with the law.
- What we never do with it: we do not use children's information for advertising, profiling for marketing, or AI training.
9.5 Who can see it. Player profiles are private by default. A profile becomes public only after a Parent consents through their own account, and we record that consent and its version. Film is private to its owner unless the owner shares it.
We disclose children's information only:
- to the child's team and Organization;
- to the people a film owner or Parent chooses to share with;
- to our service providers listed in Section 5.2, under contract; and
- for safety and legal reasons (Section 5.4).
Any other disclosure to a third party, including any public or promotional use, requires the Parent's separate consent. We never disclose children's information for money, for advertising, or to train AI.
9.6 Parents' rights. At any time, a Parent can:
- review the information about their child in the Services;
- correct it;
- refuse further collection or use of it;
- have it deleted; and
- withdraw any consent, including consent to a public profile.
To use these rights, use your linked Parent account or email privacy@gameleverage.com. We will verify that you are the child's Parent or guardian before acting. We will pass along the request to the child's Organization, and Organizations must honor it.
9.7 Possible future features. We may in the future offer limited player profiles or views for minors. If we do, we will update this Policy and our Terms, and get any required parental consent (including verifiable parental consent under COPPA for children under 13), before launch.
9.8 Security and retention. We maintain a written information security program that protects children's information. It includes a designated coordinator, at least annual risk assessments, safeguards, testing and monitoring, and at least annual review. We keep children's information only as long as reasonably necessary, under the written retention schedule in Section 8, and never indefinitely.
9.9 Material changes. If we want to use or disclose children's information in a materially different way, we will notify Parents and get their consent first.
10. Teens (13 to 17)
Teens do not have accounts. They appear only as Player profiles managed by a Parent or Organization, with the same protections as in Section 9. Specifically:
- We process teens' personal data only as strictly necessary to provide the Services that Parents and Organizations request, to keep the Services secure, and to comply with the law. This is consistent with New York's Child Data Protection Act. We ask for informed consent before any other processing.
- We never sell teens' personal data, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling that leads to decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
- We do not collect teens' precise geolocation.
- Teens cannot send or receive messages on Leverage. If we ever offer limited player profiles or views for minors, Section 9.7 applies.
11. Cookies, Global Privacy Control, and Do Not Track
11.1 Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies that are:
- strictly necessary, such as sign-in, security, and load balancing; and
- functional and performance-related, such as remembering settings and measuring reliability and usage in aggregate.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow third-party advertising networks to collect information through the Services. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some features may not work without them.
11.2 Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale of personal information and of sharing for targeted advertising, as the laws of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, and other states require. We already do neither, so this is a safeguard. We apply the signal to the browser or device that sends it and, if you are signed in, to your account.
11.3 Do Not Track. There is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals. Because we do not track users across third-party websites or apps for advertising, our practices are the same whether or not you send one.
12. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. They include:
- encryption in transit;
- encryption at rest where our providers support it;
- access controls based on least privilege;
- multi-factor authentication for staff access to production systems;
- logging and monitoring;
- vendor due diligence; and
- employee confidentiality obligations.
We maintain a written information security program that is appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold, including children's information. It is designed to meet the requirements of the COPPA Rule and New York's SHIELD Act.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your login confidential.
13. Data Breach Notification
If a security incident compromises your personal information, we will notify you, and the regulators and others the law requires, without unreasonable delay and within the time limits set by applicable law. New York, for example, requires notice within 30 days after a breach is discovered. Our notice will describe what happened, what information was involved, what we are doing, and what you can do.
14. Your Privacy Rights
14.1 Rights for all users. Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to:
- confirm whether we process your personal information and give you access to it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- give you a portable copy of your information; and
- opt out of targeted advertising, sale, and certain profiling. We do not engage in these activities.
Parents can exercise these rights for their minor children. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
14.2 How to make a request. Use your account settings or email privacy@gameleverage.com. You may also use an authorized agent where the law allows. We will verify your identity, and an agent's authority, before fulfilling access, correction, deletion, or portability requests. You do not have to create an account to make a request. We respond within 45 days. We may extend that by another 45 days when reasonably necessary, and we will tell you if we do.
14.3 Appeals. If we deny your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing privacy@gameleverage.com with the subject line "Privacy Appeal." We will respond in writing within 60 days. If we deny your appeal, you may contact your state Attorney General. Connecticut residents can do so through the Connecticut Attorney General's website at portal.ct.gov/ag.
14.4 California. If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, gives you the rights described in Section 14.1, plus the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Information we collected in the past 12 months: identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet and other electronic network activity; audio and visual information (photos, video, and livestreams); approximate location inferred from IP address; characteristics such as birth year, height, and dominant hand; and, in limited cases, sensitive personal information (account login credentials, health-related information such as injury status or registration answers, and payment information handled by Stripe).
- Where it comes from and how we use it: the sources and purposes in Sections 2 and 4.
- Who receives it: we disclose these categories for business purposes to the service providers and recipients described in Section 5.
- Sale and sharing: we do not sell or share personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16.
- Sensitive personal information: we use it only for purposes the law permits without offering a right to limit.
- Retention: see Section 8.
- Shine the Light: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
14.5 New York.
- Child Data Protection Act. For users under 18, we follow New York's Child Data Protection Act. We process minors' data only as strictly necessary for permitted purposes, or with informed consent obtained as the law requires. Because minors do not have accounts, we do not seek consent from minors directly. We never sell minors' personal data.
- SHIELD Act. We maintain reasonable safeguards, and we give breach notices as the SHIELD Act requires.
14.6 New Jersey. New Jersey residents have the rights in Section 14.1 under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act. We do not process data of consumers we know to be 13 to 16 for targeted advertising, sale, or profiling, with or without consent.
14.7 Connecticut. Connecticut residents have the rights in Section 14.1 under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act. They may also obtain a list of third parties to which a controller has sold personal data. We have sold none. Connecticut law also gives these rights:
- where profiling is used for significant decisions, the right to question the result, learn the reasons for it, and review the data used (we do not engage in such profiling); and
- for minors under 18: we do not engage in targeted advertising or sales; we limit processing to what is reasonably necessary for the Services; minors cannot receive messages because they do not have accounts; and we conduct the data protection and impact assessments the law requires.
14.8 Other states. Residents of other states with consumer privacy laws, including Colorado, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia, can exercise the rights in Section 14.1 as their state's law provides. We honor these rights for all U.S. users, whether or not a state law requires it.
14.9 Nevada. We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law.
15. Player Identification and Biometric Information
How tagging works. Our video-analysis software detects game events, creates clips, and suggests which rostered player appears in a clip, for example by using jersey numbers and roster data. A suggestion becomes a tag only after an authorized team member confirms it. A tag links the player's name, display name, jersey number, role, and team side to the footage, along with information about how the suggestion was made.
Our commitments.
- We do not sell or share player video or identity tags.
- We do not use them to build face templates or biometric identifiers for any purpose other than tagging the user's own team film.
- An authorized team member confirms each tag before it is applied.
Tag opt-out and removal by request. A player's Parent or guardian, or the player's Organization, can email privacy@gameleverage.com to ask us to (a) remove the player's existing identity tags and (b) not tag the player in future film. We will verify the request and act on it within 30 days. After that, tags for that player will not be confirmed, and existing tags will be removed from film and reports where technically feasible. Residual copies in backups are deleted on our normal backup cycle.
Before we use any feature that creates biometric identifiers or biometric information, as those terms are defined in laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14), Texas Business and Commerce Code § 503.001, and Washington's biometric identifier law (RCW 19.375), we will:
- publish a written retention and destruction schedule; and
- get prior written consent, from a Parent or guardian for any minor.
16. Emails from Organizations
Organizations can send emails through Leverage to the contacts in their programs. The Organization is responsible for having the consent or other legal basis the law requires for each contact it uploads. Every such email includes an unsubscribe option, and we keep an unsubscribe list that we honor across Organizations' campaigns, as the CAN-SPAM Act requires. To stop receiving an Organization's emails, use the unsubscribe link or contact the Organization.
17. Users Outside the United States
The Services are intended for users in the United States, and we store and process information in the United States. If you use the Services from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country. If we offer the Services to people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we will provide the additional information and rights required by the GDPR and similar laws.
18. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the Services before they take effect. If a change affects how we collect, use, or disclose children's information, we will get new verifiable parental consent before applying it to children. We will not apply material changes to information we collected before the change without the consent the law requires.
